Cream Cheese Danish

INGREDIENTS


  • 2 Large cans crescent rolls
  • 2 - 8 oz. packages of cream cheese, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 egg, separated

OPTIONAL GLAZE:

  • Lemon juice
  • Vanilla extract
  • Confectioners sugar​

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350​​​o F.
Lightly spray 10" X 15" cookie sheet with sides.

Press 1 can of crescent roll dough into bottom of prepared cookie sheet.
Put 1 can crescent roll dough between sheets of plastic wrap.  Roll to approximate size of cookie sheet.
Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, lemon juice and egg yolk until smooth.
Spread cream cheese mixture on crescent dough on cookie sheet.
Put rolled crescent roll dough on top of cream cheese mixture stretching to sides of pan.  Press sides gently with fingers.
Brush top with egg white.

Bake at 350o F for 30 - 40 minutes until top is golden brown.

Spread glaze below on top while hot or sprinkle with confectioners sugar when cool.

Keep refrigerated.

Serves 20.

OPTIONAL GLAZE:

Mix lemon juice, vanilla extract and confectioners sugar until smooth and of desired consistency.
