Apple Dumplings

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350​o F.
Grease a 9" X 13" X 2" baking dish.

Dry apples with paper towel.
Flatten each biscuit with hand and wrap biscuit around apple section.
Place seam side down into prepared baking dish.
Combine sugar, hot water, butter and vanilla extract.
Pour into baking dish, avoid tops of dumplings.
Sprinkle each dumpling with cinnamon.
Bake at 350o F for 50 - 60 minutes, until tops are golden brown, apples are tender when tested with toothpick, and sugar water has thickened.
Serve immediately or keep warm.

May be served with ice cream or whipped cream.

Refridgerate leftovers.

Serves 8.

  • 1 can grand biscuit dough (8)
  • 4 small apples halved or 2 large apples quartered   (peeled and cored) 
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
